How real are thoughts ?

The physical world which is said to be Prakriti or created by Prakriti is the epitome of the reality. Thoughts are mere imaginations. They come as bubbles in our mind. Countless at times. Science would have nothing to do wth anything else beyond the physical world. If you cannot physically verify it then it isnt scientific. Beyond this is the realm of spirituality, religion etc and thereby illogical. Or is it ? This contemplation came to me yesterday while I was walking down to my home from my bus stop ( courtesy the autowalahs who have hiked the prices so much that I decided to boycot them as far as possible). I have been a bit stressed (a lot nowadys) recently and have been thinking about it over and over. I realized that my transformation from the happy state a few days back to my present stressed and tense state has just been due to some thought exchanges and probably disagreement. Nothing in the spatial world has changed which concerns me but still my outlook had changed. Pondering over the reasons, I realized that is it just a matter of thoughts which can change my world view, my action plan and hence my physical actions. The physical actions which actually lead to change in the physical world, hence, is not the source in itself. The source was in the thought process which may have precipitated into an idea leading to a workable action plan and finally manifesting into a physical nee REAL object.
So in this world where so much importance is given to physical evidence in every matter of our life, isnt it unfair to the Mind or Something higher (like Consciousness) which though intangible is of such colossal importance that it is the source of all REAL things in the world. In our Hinduism, Brahman is said to be the Supreme Consciousness (of which us individual souls are mere reflections lost in avidya) which cannot be percieved by mere material investigation. No doubt our entire existence (universe) due to Prakriti is just a thought or dream of the Brahman. Could it be that there are  numerous Universes, all corresponding to the numerous thoughts of the Brahman. Now that would be really interesting ? At the end, somehow I come around to believe thoughts are more real than the physical world and our consciousness controlling our thoughts is the ultimate reality.
